http://tinyurl.com/3337vn Which model is this? Upright bell and 4 offset (short-action?) valves. Looks pretty nice if it doesn't get bid up too high...

Seems normal to me. Sometimes you can swoop a seller because they are ignorant and sometime you can't. They do deserve whatever money they can get for their goods. Market forces and all.Bob1062 wrote:- instrument is sold as is - really not my area -
I realize that everyone has the right to sell ANYTHING that they own, but seeing this sorta ticks me off.
How do I read it?
"I don't know anything about this item (is it a euphonium?), but give me lots of money for it because I deserve it."
Sometimes guys have garage fulls of crap that has to go. Some guys got to estate sales and get a 40 foot trailer full of stuff to sell. They paid $5000 for the trailer full and, if they get a total of $10K for the lot, they are happy. They don't wanna take the time. They wanna move the stuff.

Just checked:
2.5 days to go and it's at $1.5K. The seller should be happy with the price. Probably gonna go higher, too. Just got out of my league, though.
This looks like a fun horn. Just a little bit of work on the bell to make it look skookum and perhaps a bit of lacquer touch up on that big acid stain and it would be good to go. The dents on the body don't look big enough to worry about. I think that is the beauty of cases. They prevent a lot of the damage that can come in transport and, if the horn is adult owned as it appears this one is, the dents are only incidental. This horn is about 50 years old and is in pretty good shape all things considered.
