Bb/F Cerveny

Post by tbn.al »

How is this different from a normal 4 valve Bb like I am used to seeing? It doesn't have double valves like a double horn, at least I don't see two sets of tubing. I do see the 4th valve ahead of the stack and left hand operated, but that is the only difference I note.

Except it is only a 3 banger with a change valve. I couldn't find enough tubing for anything I am familiar with to make sense.

You can purchase a very nice VMI 3301 for a lot less. It is an excellent BBb tuba with great, consistent construction, very nice tone, response and intonation.

Since I now have a 3301 at my disposal, I am not in the least interested in buying it. I am however interested in the setup from a purely curious standpoint. I also thought that it must be a flat 1st valve but couldn't see the use of it without the 4th valve. You have answered my question with the 134 alternate. There is no way it can be a Bb/F. Not enough pipe. The seller is just ignorant of what it is or thinks we are. I don't know if this is common in Europe or not. I just haven't seen anything like it.
