Are the Bessons really going for nearly $19,000 these days?

I thought those Bessons are made in Germany now.

Copper plated springs? Is that normal?

Wide spread wheels look only a few inches apart. I'd consider Unitech to be wide.

This auction is in Australia - the list price for a Sovereign here is about $22,168.00
- with an actual purchase price of more like $14,875.00. I have heard of someone being offered one for $12,000.00 but this person ended up buying a Yamaha 632 (Yamaha Sovereign clone, about two thousand cheaper than the Sovereign).

For comparison the list price for the Jupiter 582L is $7,495.00, actual purchase price more like $6,652.00. I just checked the St. Petersburg and it's $5999.00 from an Australian internet based store. I think this might be cheaper than last time I checked that website.

So for Australians $6500.00 for a "high end" Chinese tuba is not as crazy as it sounds.

Still, I bought a second hand Miraphone from the US rather than any of the above offerings........

We got some generic tuba mouthpieces in one time at the store I work for.The box stated"mouth of tuba".We've gotten alot of enjoyment out of that over the years. How hard would it be to have a real interpreter proofread all adds written in China? Oh well...
