Hmm...
Looking at ALL of the pictures the buyer should expect a lot of red rot. (Last picture shows the receiver NOT connected to the horn with chunks of leadpipe on it)

......
It would cost more than the price of a Willson 3400 to "win" the distressed York "Monster" Eb tuba off of eBay and put it in top condition (as pictured below), at =440, and (again, as pictured below) fully chromatic with 5 valves.
The York in the auction is a BBb, right?
I'd bid but I know it's going to go higher than a sane person would pay.

It went for $1875.21. Anybody in the repair business care to speculate on what it might cost to bring it up to something you would want to play?

Well, that's the kind of thing Sam uses with 2341 parts and a rotor plus labor to make his horns.tbn.al wrote: It went for $1875.21. Anybody in the repair business care to speculate on what it might cost to bring it up to something you would want to play?

Re: York Tuba
Sam bought that York. That's a lot of money for a parts horn. I'll bet he has better use for it than to use just the bell and bows for one of his CC horns. The Big Ben wrote:Well, that's the kind of thing Sam uses with 2341 parts and a rotor plus labor to make his horns.tbn.al wrote: It went for $1875.21.
