Cerveny Piggy CC tuba

Post by Eflatdoubler »

Just curious as to the possible age of this horn and also is it just an earlier tuba based on the model and serial number?
It is listed as being an ACB 603 model (serial Number 31129). What is the difference between this and the newer ones that are a CCB 603 tuba? Anyone know what the first letter stands for?
Thanks!

As far as I know, it stands for "Amati" (Cerveny is part of the Amati-Denak group, and I've seen a few other Cerveny tubas advertised with "A" model designations). Don't know what year(s) the change-over happened, but I think all new Cerveny tubas have "C" designations, and all new Amati tubas have "A" designations.
