From what can be perceived from the photos is the eBay ad, this 46K is not in as bad shape as the 48K that I brought to Lee Stofer. A day and a half of Lee and his assistants working on my horn produced a Grand Jumbo sousaphone that plays and looks great.
If you're the successful bidder and then budget enough money for proper repairs by someone as skilled and patient as Lee Stofer, you should have a finished product that will be great to play and own.

Looks like Bundy or Martin bits. The neck doesn't appear to be Conn but should be easy to correct. Looks like fun but I already have one!

I bet they want to restore it so that they can resell it for more, but it would seem to me that restoring it wouldn't bring in enough extra profit to cover the cost of the restoration. I mean it would make sense if they were a repair person and the restoration was more or less free.
I figured that if I won it, I'd restore it (using a Tubenetter of course) and then keep it. I probably couldn't get my ebay cost + repair services back in a resale. I'm pretty sure tubas are a pretty lousy investment choice.
