Re: Balu Mute
Anyone who has to ask what this mute sounds like or why it would be needed obviously doesn't need one, so I'm not a potential buyer, but I am curious.
So, what does this mute sound like and why would it be needed?

Re: Balu Mute
Out of curiousity, what mute would you recommend for a 6/4 tuba, like your MW 2165 or my Holton 345? I try to keep an eye for them when I see them are sale, I'd to pick one up someday , but I'm not in a rush.bloke wrote:I chose the "large" mute, and cut down corks smaller than any Ion offers. I use this "large" mute with my F tuba. The closeness of the mute to the bell actually begins to accomplish the "snarl" in the sound that I seek, but more like a "Stonelined" (red & white) mute than a metal mute.
