Re: Mirafone Eb on CL183-4. Nice upper register, normal lower register oinks, a few funky pitches.
Re: Mirafone Eb on CLDon't count on playing much of anything below a 'D' on one of those. However.... that valve section can make a descent cimbasso. If the rotors are good... it's worth the money just for parts!

Re: Mirafone Eb on CL
Hmmm.... Bach marching baritone in the garage + Mirafone Eb valveset = Cimbasso
Re: Mirafone Eb on CLI'll disagree a little...
They are nice; they have a "Alexander F Tuba" low range - on the same notes - but it's certainly workable. Best high G# on earth... not as massive as it's size would suggest, but mine is a very nimble beast. The sound is nice, but not OMG. Like every Miraphone I've played, good high range. Haven't modified mine yet, but I might change the receiver out; mine's a small Euro shank. Good poor-man's German F... and you can play low F. Too bad about the bell, though. J.c.S.
