A quick search of the phone number shows this guy sells lots of things dirt cheap... like iphones, ipods, regular smartphones, and ti-nspire calculators... you know... those little electronics that so frequently can 'disappear' from peoples lives. I would be very weary of even considering this offer. I almost want deal with him to the point where he tells me which street corner to pick it up on at 2am and where to leave the dufflebag of cash.

(Or maybe I'm just being judgemental)

That's funny, I don't see all that stuff - an IPod, but that's the only electronics. And ironically he's trying to sell a King 606 trombone for $300 ("really hate to sell so cheap, but ...") Looks like he's storing this stuff at various locations.

I can't fit the metaphor to the situation very well, maybe you could draw a diagram?

If that tuba was stolen from its rightful owner, as some people seem to think, then I'd like to see that person find out about it. No ****!

What we're doing about it, is trying to bring it to the attention of a bunch of tuba players. Maybe someone here knows the story on the tuba, and will read this thread and find out that it's for sale on the Seattle area craigslist. That anyway is why I posted it in the first place, and why I am happy to keep the thread going as long as anyone else is interested in it.

I've thought about contacting the guy, but I'm not going call him up and pretend I want his tuba (really don't.) What else? Call the police? You guys who are in the business may have better ideas how to proceed, in which case you're welcome to throw down little morsels of wisdom from your high horses.

I'm not particularly interested myself in unsubstantiated opinions that it's stolen, and I might agree that such comments have a somewhat flatulent nature, but then I'm sure as I could be that if we go back through the archives we'll find that Tubenet proceedings have always been leavened with a fair amount of gas.

Donn, don't let them bully you! I agree with you 100% and your intentions were very admirable.
