What usually happens is that two people start bidding against each other and get frustrated/excited and
loose all track of what they are bidding on.
I was at a live auction once where I saw the auctioneer let a young lady bid against herself not once, but twice !
Her boyfriend caught on the 2nd time and stopped her.
They made her pay the final price too !

The worst part about it is that Jim Laabs sells this Jin Bao 200 tuba brand new for $1597 in nickel-silver!!!
