That's true of both yours and the Giardinelli. B&S is located in Markneukirchen, in the former East Germany, so in those days they had to jump thru some hoops to get their tubas to the States. So they would put a name on them other than B&S. These are known as "stencil" names, and AFAIK each importer had their own stencil name.
