I won this Flugabone. I thought to myself, "Self, toss in a bid to the wolves, say, $400. It's gotta go over $400." So I kind of accidentally won, on a bit of a whim. It will go nicely with my DEG Eb marching French Horn and 4 piston Getzen Eterna Flugelhorn, not to mention a couple of vintage Alto Horns.
Any opinions on this Flugabone from the cognoscenti?

A reputable trombonist in town who plays with one of the major orchestras says that the flugabone is the best bass trumpet available. He's used it on Rite and Wagner. There are some weird looks occasionally but he usually sits with the Wagner tubas, away from the other brass, and the conductors seem to like it.
I considered bidding but I'm really in the wrong octave to get any bass trumpet gigs. I think it was a good buy.

I had one a number of years ago, and although I am not a great trombone player, I thought it played well, and sounded great to my ears. Intonation seemed pretty good up and down my range on it. My only issue was that it could get a little tiring to hold it up to play for any extended period of time.
