$2400 for a big 4v BBb horn in good shape is a pretty good deal. Owned by "Mr. Greenjeans" from Captain Kangaroo. You would need to be a certain age and living in the USA to know the significance of that...

Looks like a great deal. Even has a 'perfectly aligned' recording bell. Never seen one like that!

I also think that this horn is misidentified. I don't think it's the big model Conn. I've seen one or two of these before and they're quite a nice size that still puts out a lot of sound.

There's also one like it in the 1924 Conn catalog, page 37 over on Saxophone.org. This was pointed out to me by a trombone playing friend tonight at band.

Call it what you want, but it is what it is. The Simonelli horn is a 1924 Conn 52J (old numbering system) and this Captain Kangaroo horn has a serial 4 numbers away from that horn.

What ever it is, it'a a small BBb with a little history.
