That outer bugle is hammered, the dent repair cost alone (if you're not a repairman) will cost another couple hundred at minimum. Too bad..nice finish.

That's a great price but that dentwork is gonna cost A LOT more than a 'couple hundred' to get done properly.

If it costs $1,000 to get it back in shape, that's still a good deal.

..... hint: Neither Dan or I will be buying it, as the price + the work required to put it in good condition would define being "upside-down"...
We leave instruments such as these "on the shelf" (as it were) for end-users to buy and to pay end-user restoration costs ($1000...?? congratulations !!!) to whomever.

Well ... craigslist is mostly about local sales. This one would be for someone who can play. For those who have never experienced this process, you go there, you sit down and play it. If it's OK, you might buy it, or anyway have further conversation about the price. At this point, whether it's B&S or just BS is irrelevant, it is what it is.

I'm not sure those dents would preclude the possibility that it plays OK. The beat-down along the side looks pretty dire, but I think tubas have survived worse, am I right? For under $600, it could be acceptable. If not, you don't buy it. It seems to me it would be kind of crazy to take something like this in for major body work, not just because of the cost but also as hinted above, the value. If it really has had the life beat out of it, it's a goner.
