Re: interesting franken tubas
Assuming they play halfway decent, that seems like a killer price for those. A 24" bell on th CC though??

Re: interesting franken tubas
If that CC is based on the Martin "Wurlitzer" a 24 inch bell is only a couple inches more than the factory bell flare...(edit) doesn't look like Martin to me, though
These both look really cool. Someone put a LOT of time into making that CC.

Looks like the mouth pipe could be changed out to a U-shaped one then play it like an over the shoulder Civil War replica.KiltieTuba wrote:That "F tuba" is interesting. Looks more like someone took a euphonium body and added an Eb bell to the end. Kind of reminds me of the Kalison or G&P upright cimbasso.

I want the CC just to try it. Someone get it and let me know how it plays. It's pretty cool looking.

Also, if anyone is even considering some of these horns (the besson Helicon, etc) according to the seller they are all from the collection of a late tuba player/repairman.
The money from the sale of all of the horns is going into a scholarship fund which will then help low brass yutes get lessons and go to college.
Edit: Here is a picture of the F next to a 12J, just for reference

For what it's worth, it's still there, on eugene.craigslist.org, complete with "listing will be deleted" verbiage, so if you're really ready with the dough, I'd say call him and make the arrangements to come and get it.SousaWarrior9 wrote: Darn! I was really interested in that one.
