Beautiful looking Martin. I have never seen an original Martin tuba case before.

The cases look king to me. I have an original Martin case from the 30's. Extremely well constructed.
That's awesome! I checked out your collection very nice! I am sure your 1934 Martin and my 1934 Martin came from the same batch. The last three of my Martin's serial number is 532 what is yours?

I found out some info on the Martin from a previous owner. The 2 hard cases shown in the picture are authentic Martin cases. The tuba was restored by Martin Wilk and the upright bell came from a Meinlweston 2165.

For what it's worth.... there were several major case companies that made cases for the instrument manufacturers. I've seen King 1240/41 cases that were obviously made by two different companies. Some of the King body cases were 'kidney-shaped' and others looked like rectangular suitcases. Same is true with the Conn 2XJ's.

Case repairs are a pain in the axx! Hinges, handles, and fasteners are next to impossible to match with modern components. Then again... some items haven't changed in a hundred years.
