When I started playing in 6th grade, my middle school handed me one of these horns, and I had to play it on its side so I could reach the mouthpiece. I thought it was HUGE. Having said that, I went back a year ago and played around on it, and it's a really nice little horn. It feels a bit smaller now that I'm a foot taller too.

These are great horns for beginners. I started on one in the 5th grade at age 9. And yes, I did hold it sideways at first. However, the bore is much smaller than the Y*B621 series and I think an adult might find it a bit tight. I switched to a vintage school owned 186 around late 7th - early 8th grade.

These are good little horns. I wish I had a room full of 'em to use for rentals!

I love these little horns--with a nice 4-valve 0.689" cluster, you'd pretty much have a YBB-621.

Quite a few years ago, I bought a Y
CB-621S (with case in newish condition) for a (even back then) giveaway price of $2000. I played ONE gig on it (a midnight Xmas mass) and immediately sold it.

Awkward slurs / goofy intonation / tenuous attacks on some in-the-staff pitches.

Once I searched for a YCB-621, and almost purchased a Weril clone. Just in the knick of time, I found my Piggy CC 4u. I love playing that large bore Piggy and just can't imagine the YCB-621 nor any other smaller bore horns. Bloke your words simply give me a confirmation.
Now if I can just get a RH thumb 5th valve just like my old Mirafone 186 put on the Piggy, I'll be real happy!

These can be ordered with a 5th valve, so the parts should be readily available. All it takes is money. You could contact Cerveny/Amati distributors (like Dillon Music) about the cost of the parts and labor to have this done.
