Should we take the fact that it's listed in the category "Fiction Books" to mean that it's a deal too good to be true?
550 pounds for that horn? That can't be more than $1100, no?

No case. Will be carefully wrapped before shipping.

Great offer on the wrapping. I'd hate for it to get dinged.

Hun, I got your mouthpiece unstuck, and I think I've fixed that leak you had in your tuba...

You guys laugh at that one but if you are a do-it-yourself tuba geek, it might be useful. Look close and the entire inner section with the valves is straight. All the parts you need to put a 4th valve on a small bore BB flat or an E flat are right there. The valves, tubes, braces, everything.

I bid with the idea of just saving that part for some unknown future project and tossing the rest. However, I bid $40 and got outbid so I'm done. (The key with eBay is knowing when you are done, although, in hindsight, I might have paid too much for the 1140 I bought. Live and learn.)

My number one complaint about the pre-UMI 1140 Kings is that the bracing is rather weak! The 1140 tubas got a bit better after UMI bought King and the 1140 production was merged with the Conn 15J.

The squished 1140 went for $98. Ya never know but, like I said, all the goodies for adding a 4th valve to a little horn were there if you were a solderin' tubageek...
