Actually, wanted to buy but have other obligations.

Awesome.....but I shudder to think about what I would feel like after a couple of sets at a stand-up gig. I'll bet that baby is heavy!

33 lbs for a Conn 40K sousaphone, but could be a couple pounds off either way. It's really not all that bad once it settles in. The shoulder plate helps a lot (don't see one on the Martin, that's too bad.) I may take my 17 lb top valve Eb bass out on a ... parade of sorts this afternoon, and I expect it to hurt me worse than the 40K would, though in different places.

I believe tubatinker's Martin was a 3 valve version, but still huge. I have a Conn 40K that rarely gets used, but it only has a 24" bell. I would love to add this to the collection. Still it would probably get used even less than the Conn, and this deserves to be played.

Please buy this Mike Lynch so I don't have to be tempted any more...
