4 valves, large bell... I bet he could get a Marine to believe that!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Yeah, its not a double horn. It seems like the 4th valve (thumb) is somewhere between a half- and whole-step...Is that right???

Stopping valve--to compensate for the detuning when the horn is hand-stopped. You can sometimes see these on double horns too. (5 valves).

Never heard of that... I thought it wasn't that big of a deal to transpose a half-step. Seems a waste to me.

1/2 step tranposing mehanisms (Bb to A cornet/trumpet, High to Low Pitch, etc.) have always been popular.
WHOLE step transpositions (C to Bb cornet/trumpet, F to Eb horn, CC tuba BBb, etc.) I would agree seem overkill.

Together, let's say it, "A horn that is beauteous!"
Their crew all can play it, for that is their duteous.
It don't cost a lot, for that we saluteous.
A tuba it's not, but isn't it cuteous?

HEY! I thought the insult thread was somewhere else!
New Breed, Old Breed! It doesn't matter so long as it's the Marine Breed!
