Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Yeah, its not a double horn. It seems like the 4th valve (thumb) is somewhere between a half- and whole-step...Is that right???

Stopping valve--to compensate for the detuning when the horn is hand-stopped. You can sometimes see these on double horns too. (5 valves).

Never heard of that... I thought it wasn't that big of a deal to transpose a half-step. Seems a waste to me.

1/2 step tranposing mehanisms (Bb to A cornet/trumpet, High to Low Pitch, etc.) have always been popular.

WHOLE step transpositions (C to Bb cornet/trumpet, F to Eb horn, CC tuba BBb, etc.) I would agree seem overkill.
