Oh my god!!! There's a York on ebay! Wait, there is another one! That's two! Double hysteria.
I predict the price on the old Conn Helleberg will end up at $360. Any takers?
Wait, I wasn't supposed to mention this. If I hadn't, nobody else would have seen them and I could buy both Yorks and the Helleberg for a pittance. Dang the hysteria!

Has anyone heard of this guy? He has no eBay feedback and will only take a cashier's check for payment. I sent an inquiry to him but have not gotten back an answer. Too bad, that picture stirs up longings usually associated with Santa's stocking hung by the chimney with care!

Yeah, I've contacted sellers like this and have ended up with a sale cancelled by ebay (which takes an act of God). If he's legitimate, he doesn't get ebay.

So apparently, God didn't like the idea of
selling Belgium.

I wouldn't trust it, but isn't this the 5 valve York EEb that was for sale at Baltimore Brass 7 or 8 months ago? It sure looks familiar to me!

BBC had this horn for sale about 2 years ago for about 4 grand if I remember correctly. (And I remember because I came really close to having it sent for a trial until the wife stepped in - I already had 2-3 tubas and a bass bone at the time.) Seems like it would be the ultimate quintet horn.
FWIW, anyone within driving distance should go and check the horn out - assuming it is legit at the starting bid it is a bargain.

Just curious if a Tubenetter was the buyer? I hated not bidding but the payment option was not compatable with my previous ebay experiences.

Dang, somebody got a DEAL!

It COULD be a deal. I think the money order/cashier's check payment option really hurt the price.
I've played a couple of Eb Yorks that were less than stellar, never played this one. I did play one York monster Eb that I have tracked for decades waiting for the owner to turn it loose but it was much bigger than this one.

If this is the one I think it is, it was Toby Hank's old Eb. Dave told me that the pitch was just a little funky on it, and it was the kind of horn you had to play every day. But he also said it was nothing that couldn't be managed.

Yes. I played it once. At the leadpipe the bell was as big as a 4/4 CC but it only had 3 valves. I thought, "I can find one of these with four valves," Never happened. I am now putting on my poker face.
