I saw this and thought, "this is the ugliest finish I have ever seen on a "restored" instrument. It looks like a non restored one. What are your thoughts on this Baritone?

it looks as though it was painted on with a brush. It's kind of a tiger stripe or somthing on the bell. hmmm......interesting

Has an aged raw brassy look to it -- which, in my opinion, doesn't look all that bad.
I would never pay that much for it though.

Ugly or not... There isn't a good shot at the open bugle, but I think this is probably a short-action euph. Don't recall the model number for four valves, but the three valved variety is 20i. Four pistons are pretty rare for this horn.

Made you overlook the creases in the bell, didn't it! :D

I looked through their stuff a few weeks back, and there were several baritones with this finish or a one with the same "brushed" texture but without the fake antique coloring. Maybe another one with a red/orange color. Looks like a cheesy big box hardware store antique doorknob or something to me, but I'm afraid it will be "not all that bad" for enough people that they may keep doing this.

Maybe it's not particularly worse than sandblasting, though.

Once those scratches have been brushed in, seems like a lot of work (and possibly loss of brass) to get it back to normal.
