Is it just me, or is that a pretty significant "Factory Finish Defect"?

nah. i cannot imagine that causes a playability issue so why worry about it?

apparently the reserve is $4,000, which is around market value for these things I think. Makes it somewhat less appealing.

Especially if this is the last of a picked-over batch at a GOOB music store. BTW, is Brook Mays in Dallas still around? I think they used to stock these...

The seller didn't answer my question about where the horn is located, so it could be them. It's not like you'll find a 181 at any old music store, so they're a good bet.
