I don't think it's a B&S. More likely a Cerveny, but the wrap of the 3 and 4 valve tubing is different from the usual European tubas.

That's a Chinese copy of a B & S tuba. I don't have a clue where the 'Sanders' name came from. The backing plates of the attachement loops and finger ring are most certainly B & S inspired.

I think it was an attempt to allude to the "Sander" tubas played by Fred Geib and others. Wasn't the copper Marzan a "Sander"? (Yup Google led me right to ...TubaTinker's website)

EDIT: What leads you to the Chinese conclusion, just the general look of the horn, or are there certain telling details? Not doubting you guys just looking to learn.

If I could get a closer look at the profile of the thumb-ring loop if might further increase my opinion that it's a Chinese horn. However, I'm basing the Chinese theory mainly on the rotor linkages. The images aren't very detailed, but they look sort of 'cheesy'... like some of the other 'Sanders' tubas I've seen that are confirmed Chinese. OTOH, maybe the linkages have been upgraded/changes. Those linkages just remind me of the sort of hardware that might have been on some of the stuff that the place in Ferndale had put on the Chinese horns that they imported and sold under the name of 'Sanders' a few decades ago.

which is a "Royal" (Oak) shame, since the Sanders instruments of 20-25 years ago were Cerveny, for the most part, and pretty doggone good overall.
