That serial number would indicate late 1980's vintage as my previous 981 of 1988 had a number not far off that. The engraving on the bell is also identical. At that period Besson were still at their very best, before the quality problems started.

It certainly looks a good example!

If it was not that I can't play top valve tubas any more for medical reasons, I would be highly tempted myself, particularly with that super flight case.
