This horn looks '30-ish'. Same valve parts as the King 1235 and very early 1240 tubas I've owned.

I have some old King advertising that mentions that the 28" bell was only available on the model 1270 BBb 'Giant' sousa. The model 1260 BBb 'regular' sousa was available with either a 24 or 26" bell. Dunno, but perhaps those bells were interchangeable. Don't know about the sousas, but the 'monster' upright tubas were available with either a .687 or .750" bore... which had to be specified at the time they were ordered.

Hmmmm.... this guy is saying the King sousaphone model 1270 has a .795" bore. Can that be?
