Just wanted to know if anyone has tried this model and how it plays. Also, is there any chance that this is legit?

This model is also known as the 'PT606'. If you search under that, you will find a lot of information.
With plenty of good feedback, this seller looks genuine.

Whether it is legit or not I don't know (though it does look a bit odd), but if you wanted a tubby-ish 4/4 C you could get a Conn 5xJ and not have to deal with possible international shipping (I do think the Conns have a bit more "classic-ness" to them as well).

If they sound alike and are the same size then that's good enough for me.

Your average non-low-brass musician would lump ALL tubas (of all keys) into that category.

Get the feeling of Arnold Jacobs by playing an incredible copy of his first instrument!
You have GOT to be kidding me!

Whatever.
I think they are similar, and that is all that matters to me. Yes, I HAVE played both horns (2 guys in my main band had one; as in one had a 606 and one has a 56J

though the 606 guy now has a PT6P which I don't like either!

).

...a cut-down King with a paste-up ("glob it all over here") 4th valve wrap...
I meant sound-wise. Both are kinda tubby, but the tubbiness of the 56J is a bit more charming that the tubbiness of the 606.

Yeah, I don't like that 4th valve wrap either....
I sat next to a Rusk York 4/4 C (and occasionally a newer 2341) for about 2 years, and although the Conn seemed somewhat lighter than the York (probably because of me playing it) they, to me (again, sigh,....

), seem to be very similar.
Man, that is an
ugly sentence!!!

It is a matter of everyone to their own! The tuba is only one quarter of the mix (with player, mouthpiece and venue acoustics being at least as important influences). As we all have different sound concepts, playing styles and personal attributes we will NEVER agree on the better tuba anymore than we will on the better food, or drink.
IMHO comparing these two is like comparing beef and lamb

to the original poster, this is a great playing horn and it plays nothing like a Conn. Not to mention it is a GREAT price.

I Iike Lamb, medium rare, stuffed with garlic cloves on the grill, with glazed carrots or brussel sprouts and a nice Spainish wine. Because we know those Spaniards, really love there sheep.

So do the Spaniards love sheep or do they love Spain?

You'd like to think that, wouldn't you? You've beaten my giant, which means you're exceptionally strong, so you could've put the poison in your own goblet, trusting on your strength to save you, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But, you've also bested my Spaniard, which means you must have studied, and in studying you must have learned that man is mortal, so you would have put the poison as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.
