I can't wait to get my 4 valve version!

Looks good. Has a much longer taper to the bell and a wide throat. Not the dramatic flair of similar Kings or Conn monster E-flats.
I would imagine that it has a great "voice" and unique sound compared to other monster E-flats.

The ultimate "Solo Pomposo" tuba!

What do you think of a PT60 on one? I have a 1916 4 front valver on the way. I really like my Bach 18's rim, but I want to try something shallower on it and I'm told that a PT60 has the same rim (I would probably use the 18 on pedal range stuff....

).
Thanks!

Crap, I hope so! I really only plan to use the 4th valve instead of 13 and 123.
This will be tied with my bass trombone as the most expensive thing I own!

No personal experience with this, but it has been reported in other threads by multiple people that the intonation of these improves dramatically with:
- the already-noted-in-this-thread suggestion of a small bowl mouthpiece, and
- a minor modification to take out the loop in the leadpipe, and move that extra tubing after the valve section.

I don't think these are the same horn.
The earlier instrument appeared to have the main tuning slide after the valve block, this new one has the tuning slide in the leadpipe. I never u/nderstood that configuration. No, not even on the Hirsbrunner tuba.
There are other differences, too.

Anyone else notice the price hike during the day today? Up $100 in both min. bid and buy it now. (No clue how it plays, but looks pretty cool.)
