TE 186A vrs 186-4U - Is there a difference?

What, if any, is the difference between these two designations? Just got a near mint TE 186 and I am IN LOVE. That probably sounds a little sappy to the average person, but I am looking for a little macho slack on tubenet. Anyway, mine has the silver bell 'krantz,' if that is the right word, but appears to NOT have the nickel slides. Just wondering.
