Hasn't this thing been up on Ebay before. Are we looking at the German version of the 2165 bandit?

Relax, I'm kidding.

Hello,
The tuba on Ebay is the older version of the Melton 200 model, which one I'm a proud owner of.
Mine is 15 years old and seems a little different, like a big brother to the model 25.
Here's a pic of mine. It's not more in production, now replaced by Fafner and Fasolt.
It has nothing to do with 2165, which is in C.
Regards,
Lars

Nice tuba. I think he was referring to the american ebay scam artist who recently posted a (not existing) MW 2165.

Lars -- what is the left-hand paddle for? A 2nd valve kicker?

Yes, that's correct. However very rarely used.

Hello, does anyone knows if it's possible to copy this model, but it's out of production today, i want having a copy of this tuba, but with a variant, i'd like a 22" bell with the same format, in place of the standard 20" bell. If it possible, what manufacturer can do it? Thanks.

Aye, Lars! That is a stout horn!

Tigerrey:

I suppose you could contact Melton and see if they would be willing to make something special for you. They probably have the mandrels in storage somewhere. Might be cheaper to wait and find one of these on the used market and then look for the bell you want. May take a few years but is potentially much cheaper!

2 years ago i asked melton about the price of the 200, and they said that isn't in production 15 years ago. About the bell, making a 22" bell would require a few bigger body.

i think is possible making a bigger copy if you make the same mandreels, but a little bigger.
