Hey, I'm sort of a newbie, Previously purchased a tuba off of ebay listed as "italian 4v tuba with strange wrap" - i'll get pics up of that soon, But I've also just purchased a York Sousa. Here's the listing - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %26otn%3D2" target="_blank

I'm wondering what kind of a neck I'd be able to use (i've heard that Conn's will work) Also, Just by the pictures.. would anyone be able to guess at the key? I'm almost sure its a BBb

If it is a BBb it is very skinny! The fact that the main body pipes go around almost twice indicates to me that it probably is BBb - most EEbs of that age had a partial wrap - but the proportions look very small to me in most of the photos. You will need to have the lead pipe straightened out, for sure!

yea.. its kinda screwed up.. but for the price.. its ok i guess. I've been told that almost all Yorks are small bore.. thats why they need Conn necks.. but im not really sure.

The reason they'd need a Conn neck is because there are no reproduction York necks, and the Conn neck would be the closest thing to it
