Re: why I did not buy this

I recently added a 1923 Buescher Monster EEb to my stable and LOVE the way it plays. It stands about 36" tall with a 19" bell making it as large as some BBb tubas. It plays in low pitch and only has 3 valves but that's all about to change. The scale is mostly OK. The high end is especially good. It's probably the only vintage Eb I've played that doesn't get flatter as I play higher. The false tones are pretty flat but the lowest Eb rocks! I own and play several older Ebs so maybe I'm just used to their quirks but my new Buescher is one of my favorites. Of course, every horn is different and others (like Bloke) may have had different experiences with these horns. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.
