I thought the sammich looked more like Little Orphan Annie, myself. But, hey, it's a good luck charm because the seller said that she won $70,000 from a local casino. Wonder how much she's lost over the years.?

Search on eBay for "Mary Sandwich" or "Cheese Mary" or "Virgin Sandwich" and you'll see that eBayers have been having lots of fun with this one...

Mary-Schmary...

...I'm going to lurk and win that suckah. The ignorant person selling it thinks that it's only the Virgin Mary in that toast, when actually, it's Shirley Temple!

 I'm sure the seller would "love that". (Maybe he/ she is a Shirley Temple fan?)

The correct answer is: "Don't call me Shirley"

I contacted the seller and asked if he would send the horn COD. I told him that I would pay extra for that arrangement - he e-mailed me back and told me no go.

I just saw a thread started by "Brickman" about three pages back where he claims to be the seller of this instrument when it was in Kansas.

The thread is titled "Silver Kalison 5/4"

I contacted one of the individuals and he said that he is NO LONGER selling his Kalison. He had either sold it or took it off the market, but he said that the pics used by the female was EXACTLY the same pics and that he was planning on contacting e-Bay. I really hope someone doesn't get screwed!

What was his email address? I've been trying to snare him into a reply, but so far, no soap.

Especially considering the tuba population of sanibel, fl is probably just below zero.

It is so easy to get a pic loaded onto some sort of media device today that it blows my mind that eBay doesn't require it on every auction. While it doesn't prevent fraud outright, it at least give some of us the chance to say, "I think I've seen that tuba somewhere before..."
Returning to playing after a nearly 15 year hiatus...

What is really amazing is that these guys must think that there a millions of tuba players out there - not just a few of us that have seen these pictures before.

Whatever that last post was, it was taken off e-bay. What was so funny?
