Interesting civil war saxhorn, euphonium held by a chinese that looks like the silver finish hasn't even dried on it yet. The horn is brand new.( On E'bay) Maybe Bejing just had a civil war with hong-kong or something. Boy, this makes you never want to trust or buy anything on Ebay. E'bay needs to hire a policeman just to monitor the tuba section alone. I see why "Bloke" gets so upset.

"Maybe Bejing just had a civil war with hong-kong or something. "???
Not funny.
The horn isn't silver plated. Silver plating doesn't need to dry.

Don't laugh. It appears to be identical to a YEP-201. It's probably made in the same factory as the Yamaha euphs!

Isn't it obvious? "Civil War"-era horns had a very small end that you blow into, and a very large end where the sound comes out. This one is made in the same way!
There's yet another connection: Their English is still WAY better than my Asian!!!

Windshieldbug-----but they wern't YEP-201"s with a silver finish that doesn't need to dry and The A'Bomb hadn't been droped so land could be cleared to build Yamaha Euph factory so we could have civil war horns in 1861 .

It could very well be where they make Yamaha horns. There are many features on this horn that look identical; braces, caps, finger buttons.

My local middle school bought some Eastman BBb 3V tubas. At first, I thought they were Yamaha horns. I didn't try to interchange parts with a REAL Yamaha but it sure looked like they should. I did a little inquiring and was told that Eastman actually bought the factory where the Yamahas were being produced.... complete with the tooling. That's unconfirmed... but believable with all the Global stuff that's going on now.
