The real story about the son bothered by his grandfather's death is rather touching, but after it was publicized by the media, unprincipled and greedy imitators jumped in with false listings, many copying exactly the original wording.
When I checked a few days ago, there were about 10 faux listings for "ghost cane" -- today there are 143! Needless to say, the $14000 one seems to be one of the fakes. The original lister has been cancelling exorbitant bids and pleading bidders not to go overboard.
I'm a little saddened (but not surprised) at some people's cupidity.
