Do you think it's a euph? I think it's beautiful but would really like to hone in on what key it plays in before wagering a bid. (The seller doesn't know.)

Going by the picture on chair it looks too big to be euphonium to me. Also the 2nd valve slide proceeds beyond the keys, so I guess is an F, or Eb?

All the same very interesting - I like those fancy valve keys.

I say Bb euphonium. The chair is no use at all, unless you know how big it is, but he says it's 26 inches long, and at least the chair picture is a clear view of the main tubing - not much more than 8 feet. (C euphonium for all I know.)

I think it looks like a euphonium, too. Maybe they would call it a tenor tuba, but same thing. I hope the buyer posts and tells us for sure.

Okay ... just did a little quick-and-dirty scaling in Paint, and it gets curiouser. Going by the pic in the chair and the given measurements, the first valve circuit length looks to be just over 15", which would fit an open bugle length of about 10-1/4 feet (a tenor in Ab). Didn't do the entire bugle yet (that's next), but I wouldn't be too surprised if it matches.
