I own one of these horns. I love it and I'll never get rid of it. :)

I can assure you, it is a 5/4 tuba. The throat of this thing is much bigger compared to a Miraphone 186 or a King 2341. The bore is also considerably larger than a 186 or a 2341.

I've had mine for over 11 years now, bought used. I have done a lot of work on it. I believe there were only 20 - 25 made in the very early 90's. Definitely a 5/4 tuba......17.75" bell, large bell throat, .807" bore (.846" 4th valve), large mouthpipe, big bottom bow, tallish, etc. This tuba is sonically and physically bigger than the later 2155 piston model. Actually, the 2155R and 2155P have little in common - they are completely different tubas.
I'd say the 2155R is a bit bigger than the Alex 163 -- bigger/wider bell throat and bottom bow than the 163 --, but smaller than the Alex 164.
Sound is quite thick and dark, with a very centered core.
