Fascinating.

If I remember my brass history correctly, when valves were first invented trumpets were still being made in the long Bb "barok trumpet" length of around 9 feet (comparable to the length of the trombone). Trumpets were later shortened to F, and eventually shortened to the modern Bb and C lengths. Its not unlikely that this is such an F-trumpet.

Hmm, that F-trumpet looks like a homebrew instrument?
About top action rotaries, Schagerl makes a modern one. I think one of the guys in Mnozil Brass uses one of those and maybe James Morrison has also been seen with one.
