The model 686 is the same as the 681, their entry model BBb, but with a larger bell. Here are the specs:
CBB 686-3 V.F.CERVENY BBb Tuba, 3 rotary valves, bore 20.0mm (.787"), bell 450mm (17.7"), ht. 980mm (38.58"), 4/4 size, lacquer
I had a 686 stencil, although it had 4 valves and was in all rose brass. I thought it was a very well made and good playing horn. I'm not sure that I would consider a 3 valve version if only because the low range wasn't as strong as on some other tubas and 3 valves may make it tough to handle some of the low stuff, even on a BBb.
