Looks like an Eb tuba. Pre-1900 judging by where it was made (Worcester, Mass.) The Rot in the bottom bow is the only thing that worries me. I wonder how much plating is left on the valves? :tuba:

It does look a little small even for an Eb tuba, but with a 13" bell it could be. A more interesting Eb tuba to me is this one:

Even with only 3 valves this could be turned into something very interesting.

I own one of these. Mine is in laquer and seems to have seen limited use. It plays Really well. It is also high pitch and we lengthened the main and fourth slides which put it at pitch. I've seen others with a "W" main slide which was probably the Low Pitch slide. It puts out a surprising amount of sound. If anyone out there has one of those W slides they're willing to part with please shoot me a PM. If the valves aren't shot (mine are in great shape) someone will get a wonderful horn. Ed
