Crazy tuba mouthpiece

Does anyone play on one of these and what are the benefits? How much does this thing weigh?

I actually used to own one of these. It plays very similarly to a Conn Helleberg. It's a decent mpc.

I happen to like them, though not everyone does. It's a question of what works best for you.

Howard Johnson always seemed to favor heavy mouthpieces:
I remember seeing him using the weighted washer m/p's as well. I'd like to try one of those.

Denis Wick used to make these "extra mass" cups that would fit around trombone mouthpieces to give them extra weight. I wonder if they are available for tuba.

Now it's up to $200.00. Now I wish I'd snagged the one that sold for a hundred last week ...
