I've never seen a sousaphone without pistons before. Could anyone provide more information? I'm just curious.

Regards
Butch

I had not thought of that! But... I play in an Alphorn trio and I can see the same music being played on three of these 'sousas' in a parade and actually being quite a lot of fun. And.... maybe even sounding pretty good.

That horn could be in Gb (as the Europeans say).... with an extension for F.... or just pull the main out about 4".

The configuration of the 'dummy' shoulder tube is interesting.

Being from Switzerland, I like the idea of a "marching alphorn"!

I contacted the seller, but he wasn't really helpful. He doesn't know much about the instrument.
He thinks that it's made by «Glier» and that it's in Eb or Bb.
These horns are used in «Fanfarenzügen». I don't know how these are called in english, but these are band that play only instrument with natural tones.
