I'm wondering what makes this an "Orchestral Tuba"?
It sure looks like a 3/4 BBb tuba to me & I really don't see
a horn of this size being used in an orchestra too often.

Now, guys. Let's be fair, here. The 14" bell and 38" height are actually measurements on the planet Omigosh. Here in the U.S., those measurements would be approx. 21" bell, and 57" height. That should be plenty big enough for any orchestra on this planet. Besides, the ad didn't indicate what kind of orchestra one would use the instrument with, anyway.

I'm surprised at the cynicism you guys have displayed. Ordinarily, the TNFJ uses great restraint in their posts. Why, everyone on TubeNet is, or should be, a member of the National Organization of Erudite Citizens. Some bloke is the president. I can't seem to remember his name.

Doesn't Sun Ra still use a bunch of tubas in his Space Arkestra?

This might be one!

I'm pretty sure the horn that was sold was the same as:

http://www.mackbrass.com/MACK-TU520L__BBb_Tuba.php" target="_blank

http://www.jimlaabsmusic.com/band-orche ... d_443.html" target="_blank

MM-TU 520 BBb Tuba

So whoever bought it, got it for about half the price they normally sell for.
This horn has a very small bore of about .629" so I hardly see it as an "orchestral tuba"
But who knows, maybe a good beginners tuba for elementary school band?

One additional observation: If you have to ask what "erudite" means, you probably aren't erudite.
