So I may be an idiot, but I don't think that this is a french horn or a tuba. What is it? My first thought was that it is a bugle, but I don't know

Yup, that's what it is. The piston is a whole step and the rotor is a half.
One of the exhibitors brought an older one to Ft. Myer last year, and I surprised him by knocking out a scale right away.
Oh yeah -- as far as piston-rotor bugles are concerned, the Olds line was some of the best. I think that Zig Kanstul might've had a hand in the design, too.

So, a man from California goes to visit his sheep-ranching cousin in Wyoming. When he gets there, he notices that there are no women around and he asks his cousin about it. His cousin just grunts and goes back to work. The next day, the californian and his cousin were walking the fence line and they see a sheep with its head stuck in the fence. The wyoming boy looks at the californian and says "yuh were askin' wut we do with no wimmin around...I'm gonna show yah." The wyoming boy proceeds to take down his pants and do the sheep. After he is done, he turns to the californian and says "now it's yur turn." So, the californian whips down his pants and sticks his head in the fence.

They have, but I haven't seen one in regular use. It's been twelve years since I saw their first prototype 4-valve G contra.
