Hi folks,

I am the owner of this tuba and have been a lurker here for a long time. I am selling this horn to help fund the purchase of a larger tuba for use in a very talented, large, and growing community orchestra. I would be happy to sell this instrument off of eBay to anyone who is interested. After having tested the waters and done my market research, I would offer it for $1000/OBO for the tuba, SKB case, and Stofer Geib MP. Buyer pays shipping. It's a great 3V BBb, very playable as is having been restored by Lee Stofer. With the Kanstul instruments, one can find a new 4V cluster and leadpipe that will fit this one perfectly.

Cheers,

Mark McDonald

The case closes very easily over the horn. I doubt there is any undue pressure.

I'm 99% sure that that's a horn I got from Chester Schmitz about 15 years ago. Roy Lawler did the valves and leadpipe and I ended up selling it to Tom Treece to pay in part for my son to go to a private school. I suspect he sent it up to Lee to make room for other horns so there you have it. I'm sure Lee did at least service and polish it but the overhaul was done by Roy. It is a good player. Ed

This jives with what Lee told me. He said he didn't have to do a lot to it as it came to him in good shape.

Not yet. I just decided to list this as a 7 day auction with a VERY reasonable reserve.
