Those Reynolds tubas are not to be confused size-wise with the Olds O-099 tubas and others. This Reynolds is a HUGE horn by comparison... much larger that the Kings that have a similar bore. The upright bell for these is a 'stovepipe'.

I have this same horn with 3 valves. The last thing that comes to mind is beginner. They are great players, but physically they're a real load to move around. Not for the small of frame or someone looking to downsize.
