EBay Renig

I was excited about this auction on eBay. It was 30 minutes away, so I had a shipping advantage. I emailed the seller to make sure I could get local pick-up. I bid, and there was a second bid. Then the seller cancelled for an "error" in the listing. It was the first day of a seven day listing. Anyone else experience this?

I found out that the seller was offered $500 outside of eBay. The seller even asked how high I would have gone. I guess eBay is not a true auction...

That's a huge red flag, just leave now. Either it's a scam and you'll end up with no money or no tuba, it's hot, or the person is an idiot. I wouldn't want to make a deal in any of those 3 cases.
