That's an odd place for something like that to end up. There are fewer than 100K people on the island, the vast majority not very affluent. Not a bad place to buy a ukulele. For practical purposes access is by air, so in a sense it's not much closer to the other islands than to the mainland, though there could be some convenient inter-island freighter service that the locals know about.
Nice place to be this time of year, though.
