But I can't find the thread and I'm not sure what I would type into the search function to find it, but what were the thoughts on this thing?

$400 for a four-valve tuba doesn't seem bad and it's only 3 1/2 hours away from me...I do have a couple friends in Des Moines too, although they don't play tuba... your thoughts?
I thought we discussed this...

Fun horns but not spectacular players ... in my humble opinion, of course. Made by Cerveny. I've had a couple of those.

I was curious about the finish. I contacted them and they said their son played it through high school and it's perfectly playable, slides and rotors all move.bloke wrote:nice paint job

A 'perfectly playable' Cerveny? That sort of proves it's a scam!Tubajug wrote:....it's perfectly playable.....

Just joking. It's probably a deal just for the parts!

I've thought about that too...it might make a starting point for me to build my own CC! Especially if you replace the valves with pistons, shortening that leadpipe might get you most of the way there!TubaTinker wrote:It's probably a deal just for the parts!

I've had at least one of those beasts where the leadpipe had to be cut just to make it play in Bb! Flatter than a pancake!Tubajug wrote:I've thought about that too...it might make a starting point for me to build my own CC!
