I agree. The horn needs a lot of dentwork. The key here is whether the valves are tight. $1,000 will go a long way in taking care of the dentwork but throw in a valve job and the cost would be 'over the top'.

Kiltie... this is not the 'big one', is it?

FWIW... the tenon on my King 'monster' 1291 rotary is the same size as the 2nd largest King sousa... 7 1/8".
